FYI, we intended to have this one available on YouTube but had some technical difficulties, so audio only this week.

With Curtis out of town, our good buddy Blaiz Grubic joins the show this week to fill in, making his Sound Of Hockey Podcast debut!

Lots of discussion on this episode about what the Kraken can learn from the Hurricanes and what the guys took away from Carolina’s impressive Stanley Cup run.

Great breakdown of the Canes’ model! Carolina’s focus on high-volume shots, relentless forechecking, and analytics-driven asset management is definitely something Seattle should study. Finding patterns and consistent value in sports data is tough, though – I actually started using site a few months back for match analytics, and it’s crazy how much better AI spots subtle trends than traditional stats. If the Kraken front office can leverage similar predictive models and data depth to optimize their lineup without overpaying in free agency, they’ll be in a fantastic position for a deep playoff run next season.
